Attraverso progetti come "Scuola in Armonia" e "Azienda senza Stress", l'organizzazione promuove l'applicazione concreta dell'autoconsapevolezza nella vita quotidiana, familiare e professionale.

BEYOND THE JOURNEY: ISSUP AMONG THE PEAKS OF THE HIMALAYAS AND GANDHI'S LEGACY
There are experiences measured in kilometers and journeys, conversely, measured through the depth of encounters and the intensity of inner search. The recent expedition undertaken by the ISSUP Study and Psychophysical Evolution Group (International School of Studies for Universal Peace) in India and the Himalayan region fully belongs to this second category: a human, cultural, and spiritual itinerary lived well beyond the customary paths of mass tourism.

Shivji Sada Sahay

For the organization, the expedition represented a significant return to its origins. Indeed, the history of ISSUP traces its roots back to Rishikesh, at the foot of the Himalayas, where in 1960 the founder, Professor Mario Brunetti, initiated this path of study. Those were the years when the West was rediscovering Yoga, meditation, and Eastern philosophy; a global phenomenon that in 1968 would lead iconic figures like the Beatles to the very same location. Returning to these places today means reconnecting the threads of a memory that weaves the teachings of the great masters of the Vedic tradition with the contemporary pursuit of personal balance.

The itinerary wound through New Delhi, Rishikesh, the Kunjapuri temple, the Taj Mahal, and the banks of the sacred Ganges River. The moments spent during the stays at the Nirmal Ashram and the ceremonies at the Shivananda Ashram—an institution historically linked to Professor Brunetti's work—were particularly profound. At the Mahasamadhi Temple, the group shared in the recitation of mantras and the ritual of prasada. Alongside the contemplative dimension, the experience found an important moment of social witness in the visit to the Rishikesh leper colony, reaffirming the value of selfless service and solidarity toward the most vulnerable.

In New Delhi, ISSUP was lovingly guided and hosted by Lady Sonia Gurnani, an international fashion designer. Thanks to Lady Sonia Gurnani, the ISSUP group was able to visit and participate in the ceremonies and Prasada at the Bade Mandir Temple in New Delhi, the place of Mahasamadhi of Master Shivji Sada Sahay. Two years ago, the "Fashion for Peace" event was held with Lady Sonia in Orsara di Puglia—a fashion show featuring the designer's creations, organized with the prestigious participation of the Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of India, the Mayor of Cambridge, and the Mayors of the Daunian Mountains.

The crowning moment on an institutional level took place right in New Delhi, where the delegation was welcomed at the private residence of Lady Tara Gandhi Maa, direct granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi and Honorary President of ISSUP. During the meeting, enriched by the hospitality of Lady Sonia Gurnani, the numerous milestones of ISSUP's commitment to promoting a culture of nonviolence were revisited—a path that over the years has touched dozens of Italian and international cities.

ISSUP's approach is founded on the idea that meditation and mindfulness should not remain isolated practices, but rather integrate into a comprehensive, 360-degree cultural vision. Through projects such as "School in Harmony" ("Scuola in Armonia") and "Stress-Free Company" ("Azienda senza Stress"), the organization promotes the practical application of self-awareness in daily, family, and professional life. Professionals from diverse backgrounds took part in the expedition—including Scientific Director Dr. Domenico Scoglietti, President Vincenzo Scarano, mentor Angela Carucci, lawyer Patrizia Ruffano, employee Maria Grazia Zonca, history lecturer Davide Ranzani, and teacher Claudia Del Priore—bearing witness to how the search for harmony represents a universal need. The concluding message of the experience summarizes the group's philosophy: "Peace has no peace, unless you do something for peace."
